Error code BR-07 means: the buyer’s legal name is not on the invoice.
What does BR-07 mean?
The validator shows this message (as worded in the official rules):
[BR-07]-An Invoice shall contain the Buyer name (BT-44).
An invoice must contain the buyer’s name (BT-44). In UBL that is the legal name in the customer’s cac:PartyLegalEntity/cbc:RegistrationName. Here too, a trading name in cac:PartyName is not enough.
Common causes
- The customer record only contains a nickname or department, not the legal name.
- The export only puts the customer name in
PartyName. - The customer was created with only a VAT number.
How to fix it as the sender
- Enter the customer’s legal name in the customer record, as in the official company register.
- Have the export put that name in
cac:PartyLegalEntity/cbc:RegistrationName. - Validate the invoice again.
