Version October 2026. This is a translation for your convenience; in case of any discrepancy, the Dutch version prevails.

Through efacturatieontcijferd.be we sell the book E-facturatie Ontcijferd, and you can contact us or request a talk or training. In doing so, we process personal data. In this statement you can read which data, why, for how long and what rights you have.

1. Who are we?

The controller is LEAP ADVISOR BV, with registered office at Ter Bunder 15, 9070 Destelbergen, Belgium, VAT BE 0687.978.339.

For privacy questions you can reach us at contact@efacturatieontcijferd.be.

2. Which personal data do we process?

  • Identification data: name, address, e-mail address and telephone number
  • Business data: company name, company number and billing details
  • Order data: what you order, delivery address, amounts and the status of your order
  • Payment data: the payment status and a reference from Mollie. Card or account details never reach us
  • Messages: the content of what you send via the contact form or by e-mail
  • Request data: your organisation, the desired topic, the format, the number of participants and the preferred period of a talk or training
  • Technical data: IP address, functional cookies needed for the site and the shopping basket to work and, only with your consent, usage statistics via Google Analytics

3. What do we use them for, and on what legal basis?

  • Processing, paying for and delivering your order: performance of the contract
  • Issuing invoices and keeping our accounts: legal obligation
  • Answering your question via the contact form or by e-mail: legitimate interest, or steps you request yourself before entering into a contract (for example a bulk order or a keynote)
  • Handling a request for a talk or training: carrying out your request
  • Securing the website and preventing abuse: legitimate interest

We do not send newsletters and do not use your data for profiling or automated decision-making.

4. How long do we keep them?

  • Order and invoice data: for as long as the legal retention period for accounting and VAT documents requires
  • Messages via the contact form or by e-mail: up to two years after the last contact
  • Request data: up to one year after the talk or training, or after your request if no assignment follows
  • Technical data and log files: a few months at most
  • Statistics in Google Analytics: 14 months at most

5. Who do we share them with?

We do not sell your data. We work with processors who are contractually bound by the GDPR and only do what is necessary for their task:

  • Combell (Belgium): website hosting
  • Google Ireland Limited (Ireland): website statistics via Google Analytics, only if you consent
  • Mollie (Netherlands): payment processing
  • Our logistics partner: delivery of the book
  • Our accountant: invoicing and accounting

Apart from that, we only share data when the law requires us to. Your data stays within the European Economic Area, with one exception: if you consent to Google Analytics, Google may also process the statistics in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Peppol checker and e-invoice validator

With the Peppol checker, we send the company number you enter to the official Peppol registries (the SML of the European Commission and the SMP of the service provider concerned) and to the Peppol Directory. We keep the result temporarily for at most one hour, without linking it to you. To prevent abuse, we count the number of lookups per IP address over ten minutes. We do not store that IP address ourselves, only an irreversible hash of it.

If you search the Peppol checker by company name, your browser asks Nummo (nummo.be), the Belgian company search engine, for suggestions. After a lookup by number, your browser also asks Nummo for the link to the company page. The search text or enterprise number and, as with any web request, your IP address are sent to Nummo. Nummo only uses them to return the answer and to limit abuse. No cookies are set.

The e-invoice validator works entirely in your browser. This also applies to the PDF view and to downloading attachments: these are created on your own computer. Your invoice is not sent to us or to third parties and is not stored. The components needed for this are loaded from our own server, not from external services. Which country we suggest next to Automatic is based on your browser’s time zone and language. If you choose a country or rule set yourself, your browser remembers that choice locally (localStorage), so you don’t have to choose it again on your next visit. All of this happens in your browser: nothing is sent to us. If you choose Automatic again, the stored choice is deleted.

6. Cookies

We always set functional cookies: to remember your shopping basket, complete your order, keep the site secure, remember the language you chose (efo_taal) and store your cookie choice (efo_consent). We only set Google Analytics cookies if you consent in the cookie notice. They show us how the site and the tools are used, for example how many invoices are validated. Advertising features are switched off and we do not use marketing cookies. You can change your choice at any time via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Fonts are loaded from our own server, not via Google. The links to LinkedIn are ordinary links: LinkedIn only places cookies if you click through.

7. Security

We protect your data with, among other things, an SSL certificate, regular updates, backups and restricted access to the site’s administration.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict your data, to data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. If you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Send your request free of charge to contact@efacturatieontcijferd.be. We reply within one month.

9. Lodging a complaint

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be.

10. Changes

We may amend this statement, for example if our services or the legislation change. The most recent version is always on this page.
