E-invoicing in Belgium
E-invoicing in Belgium in brief
Since 1 January 2026, businesses established in Belgium must send each other structured e-invoices, usually via Peppol. A PDF no longer counts as an invoice between Belgian businesses. Foreign companies without a fixed establishment in Belgium fall outside the mandate, but they may join voluntarily.
- Belgium e-invoicing mandate: who must comply, the exceptions and the fines.
- Peppol validator: check an e-invoice against the official rules.
- Peppol checker: see whether a Belgian company can receive e-invoices.
- Frequently asked questions: Peppol, storage, invoices to the government and e-reporting.
Why this book
E-invoicing: turn a legal obligation to your advantage.
From January 2026, e-invoicing became mandatory in Belgium. This book is a practical guide not only to complying with the new rules, but also to getting the most out of this legal obligation. Discover how e-invoicing can bring more efficiency, automation and streamlined administrative processes. The book is written in Dutch.
Clear, neutral and practical
The authors start from the questions they hear every day in their work with business owners and accountants. How does Peppol work in practice? Which data are mandatory? What about pro forma invoices? The book answers these questions clearly and without technical detours. The explanations apply in any context, independent of platforms or specific software packages.
