Facturae validator: check Spanish e-invoices online

Our free Facturae validator checks a Spanish electronic invoice against the official Facturae schema. It recognises versions 3.0 up to 3.2.2. Drop your XML file below: you see every structure error, and the file never leaves your browser.

What does the Facturae validator check?

The Facturae validator checks the structure of the invoice against the official schema (XSD) of its version: the right elements, in the right order, with valid data types, dates and amounts. For Facturae there is no public Schematron rule set, so we check the structure only.

What is Facturae?

Facturae is the Spanish XML format for electronic invoices. Suppliers of Spanish public administrations have used it for years, through the central entry point FACe. A Facturae invoice for the government carries an electronic signature (XAdES).

Facturae and the Spanish B2B obligation

Spain approved the rules for mandatory e-invoicing between businesses in 2026. The obligation starts in October 2027 for businesses with a turnover above 8 million euros and a year later for the others. Invoices follow the European standard EN 16931. Facturae is one of the accepted formats on private platforms, next to UBL, CII and EDIFACT; copies for the public platform of the tax agency must be in UBL. Updated on 10 October 2026.

What the Facturae validator does not check

We do not check the XAdES signature, VeriFactu or the checks of FACe and other platforms. The result is therefore an aid, not a guarantee that a platform or customer will accept the invoice.

Frequently asked questions about the Facturae validator

Is the Facturae validator free?

Yes. You need no account, and the file is processed only in your browser.

Which Facturae versions do you support?

Versions 3.0 up to 3.2.2. The validator recognises the version from the file.

Do you check VeriFactu?

No. VeriFactu concerns invoicing software and the records it sends to the Spanish tax agency, not the Facturae file itself.

Belgian customer?

Invoices to Belgian businesses travel via Peppol in the Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 format. For those invoices, use our Peppol validator instead, because it applies the official Peppol rules.
