E-reporting in Belgium does not apply yet, but the government plans to start it on 1 January 2028. People often confuse e-invoicing and e-reporting: the first applies since 2026, while the second comes later. We list what is certain today.
What does e-reporting mean for your bookkeeping?
For now, nothing changes: as long as Parliament has not passed the law, you do not need to adapt anything. Still, it pays to make sure your structured invoices are correct today, because they will form the basis of any reporting later. Moreover, good e-invoicing already helps you now: less manual entry, fewer errors and faster insight. So discuss with your accountant how your invoicing and bookkeeping fit together.
